I think to effect real change in the DEI space, we are going to need a two-pronged approach: legal solutions and a plan to shift cultural norms. Cultural change requires long-term vision and multiple strategies. Diversity training, when thoughtfully designed to address the needs of schools, universities, workplaces, and society at large, especially if it incorporates a visual component and is repeated over time has the potential to foster greater collective harmony. It can serve as a vital tool for advancing pluralism. Let’s approach diversity training with an open mind, recognising that it is a work in progress. While it may never be the most exciting endeavor, its impact could be profound.

Knowledge does not come by naturally, you will have to go through a systematic training program as this is vital for ensuring a happy and successful life. In our everyday lives we can change and transform ourselves through training. I think that no matter what activity or practice we are pursuing, there isn’t anything that isn’t made easier through constant familiarity and training. Therefore, we should consider education as a very important factor for ensuring a successful and happy life.

There is massive value just taking time away from the office to spend time with smart, inspired people as their ideas and energy will influence you. I think we can use nature as an example for us that life is about rebirth and transformation, becoming exactly who we believe ourselves capable to be. This is not only possible, but inevitable, if we let go of the struggle and speediness, and of the need to become our best instantly and without journeying through several unique stages. Nature’s metaphor releases us from a sense of battling against our circumstances and invites us to rely upon an innate, perhaps universal, order and timing.

One of the first steps in business transformation is communicating purpose, everyone should very clearly understand that “Why?” In uncertain economic times, having a clear north-star objective is what can keep organisations on the right path. The path to transformation is by embracing life everyday with openness. You can start on the path wherever you are, everyone is in the position to say that this situation is difficult but I am grateful for having a higher self that can find a solution. Acknowledging this path can transform any experience from darkness to light. It’s like having a torch in a dark forest where the only thing that matters is the next step that you see ahead of you.
How should you live life when you are on this path? It’s easy to feel grateful when life is going well, yet not everyday is like that! Most days are a mixture of negative and positive situations, emotions and feedback at home and work. I think that we only need two tools on the path: knowledge and experience. Knowledge gives you the vision of the bigger picture that you can trust, and experience validates that the experience is true. When we achieve even more knowledge and experience - complaints are transformed into light and wonder and gloom changes to joy. This acknowledgement that you are being guided by the light inside of you is the beginning of the journey.

Getting beyond these opposites is important, not that you should give up and let the darkness creep in but so you stop being stuck in conflict.
